YOU CAN DISCOVER ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE!

You can discover anything in your life. You will become capable to initiate anything; you will become capable to discover the unknown things in your life. It will boost up you to move forward in your life. Even you can unearth the things which are impossible for you.

For instance, it is the ‘I can do anything….’ attitude that the scientists, inventors, discoverers and explorers are able to research, invent, discover and explore the unknown and impossible things.

“We cannot teach people anything; we can only help them discover it within themselves.”

---Galileo

Lord Buddha’s story:

Siddhartha was brought out in great comfort and luxuries since his childhood. He was a crown prince. He was surrounded with all the materialistic happiness, joy and pleasure. He had never witnessed any sorrow, pain and anxiety in his life. His life had been spent inside the boundaries of his Grand Palace. He had never seen the real life outside his palace.

One day, Siddhartha decided to go outside of his palace and wish to see the outside world. Then, he came across with four sights on his way: The first sight he saw was a sick and ill man.

The second sight he saw was an old and weak man.

The third sight he saw was a dead body.

The fourth sight he saw was an ascetic, the enlightened one.

While seeing the three sights, Siddhartha became very sad. His mind was overwhelmed with the questions of why man would become sick and ill; why man would become old and weak; why a man would die. He decided to find out the answers of his questions; and at the same time he was firmed to discover the solutions of sorrows, pains and anxieties of a man. He was determined to discover the truth of life.

Then, he left his wife and son, and his palace and kingdom, and went out to discover the truth of life.

He had spent a hard life; he was begging for alms door to door, and practiced meditation;  he  had wandered everywhere to discover the truth of life. He had met with many great saints and asked them about the truth of life, however, none of them soothe his thirsty mind, heart and soul.

Eventually,  he  started  doing meditation under a Bodhi tree for 49 days; giving up his hunger and thirst. And after 49 days of meditation, he got his enlightenment. Siddhartha became Buddha, the enlightened one. He had discovered the truth of life. He got all the answers of his questions. He had discovered the reasons of sorrows, pains and anxieties of a man.

Lord Buddha gave his sermon to his disciples: “There is a great sorrow in this world. This sorrow is because of desire. If you can free yourself from desire, you will free from sorrow.”

What great lesson you can learn from Lord Buddha’s life?

• If you are determined to discover anything in your life, then you can discover.

• You should believe in yourself.

• You have to leave your attachment to pursue anything in your life. (Like Lord Buddha had left the attachment of his wife and son, and his palace and kingdom).

• Prepare yourself to face the tough situation of your life.

• You have to quit your weaknesses such as your self-doubts, idleness, negative attitudes and procrastination.

• You have to come out of your comfort zone.

• You have to become firm and steady in your goal.

Anecdote:

When  the  great explorer, Christopher Columbus set out his voyage in the Atlantic Ocean from Spain with the hope of finding new lands and great treasures, at that time he didn’t think that he would discover Americas or America in his journey in the year 1492. However, he discovered America by accident, and his name was remembered forever as the great explorer.

However, his voyage was not an easy and smooth one; he had countered numerous hurdles and upheavals. He had lost many of his comrades and crew members on his voyage. Even in one of the occasions, his own crew members tried to kill him because of not halting the journey in the mid way. But he was positive in his approach. He knew that he would find something worthwhile at the end of his journey.

Columbus won confidence over his crew members with his positive approach and positive insights, and eventually he proved and succeeded in his mission.

What lesson you can take away from the adventurous story of Columbus?

• You have to continue with your goals and missions.

• You have to persevere.

• You have to keep your positive attitude.

• Never get disappointed with your temporary failures and setbacks.

• Keep moving ahead.

• Believe in yourself.

• Face the challenges of your life.

• Be optimistic.

What things you can discover in your life?

• You can discover your own inner-self.

• You can discover your own potentials.

• You can discover your own energy, power and strength.

• You can discover your own happiness.

• You can discover your own prosperity.

• You can discover your own happiness.

• You can discover your own success.

• You can discover your own peace.

• You can discover your own tranquility.

“The greatest discovery in life is self-discovery. Until you find yourself you will always be someone else. Become yourself.”
