Once, in a telecommunication company worked a guy Michael. He was the kind of guy who always used to be in good mood. He was like natural motivator. He was always telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.
One
day, one of the co-employees Sam went up to him and asked him, “How do you do
it? How can you be so positive all the time?”
Michael
replied, “Each morning when I wake up….I say to myself….
You
have two choices today…..You can choose to be in Good mood today or Bad
mood…..I chose Good mood….
Whenever
something bad happen I ask myself…..Either you can choose to be a victim or can
learn something from it…..I chose to learn…
Every
time someone comes complaining to me….I have choice to accept complaint or I
can point our positive side of life….I chose positive side of life….”
Sam
replied, “It’s not an easy as you say.”
Michael
continued and said, “Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk,
every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose
how people affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The
bottom line: It’s your choice how you live your life.”
Sam
left the company and they never met again. Several years later Sam came to know
about serious accident happened to Michael. Michael fell from a 60 feet high
communication tower and was injured badly. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks
of intensive care, Michael was released from the hospital.
After
a year of accident, Sam got chance to meet Michael. When he met Michael he
asked him about his health and well being.
After
this Sam asked him, “What was going on in your mind as the accident took
place?”
Michael
replied, “Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices: I
could choose to live….or I could choose to die….I choose to live….”
Sam
asked, “Weren’t you scared?”
Michael
replied, “When I saw expression of doctors I was really scared. In their eyes I
could see- “He’s a dead man.”
Then
I knew I had to do something.
One
of the nurses came asked if I were allergies to anything and I said yes….Then
all doctors and nurses stopped waiting for my reply…
I
took a deep breath and yelled, “Gravity…”
Over
their laughter, I told them, I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am
alive, not dead.”
Moral: Every day we
have the choice to live fully. We should understand the effect of keeping a
positive attitude in life. Each day has enough trouble of its own. It’s our
choice how we react to the situation and live.
