How to Develop Pleasing Personality?

Most of us want to possess pleasing personality. Here are the lips to acquire this personal trait: 1.   Accept a person as he is and where he is. This attitude takes away hostility in human relationship. It is not possible to behave pleasantly with one whom you hate. When you accept a person as he is, you can relax and feel free with the concerned person. Then he too will be happy and friendly with you. 2.   Be outgoing. Maturity provides you with this important quality. You must be other person-centered rather than self-centered. Too much selfishness takes away the friendly nature to go out of the way to help a person in need. 3.   Be a good listener and be interested to listen with patience and sympathy for the other person. 4.   Look for the good in everyone. Think and live positively instead of negatively. 5.   Concentration on other person’s achievement. Do remember that there is good in everyone and sincerely look for...

A Glass of Milk, Paid in Full (A Life changing story)

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, “How much do I owe you?” “You don’t owe me anything,” she replied. “Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness.” He said, “Then I thank you from my heart.” As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit. Years’s later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Ke...

We are Bound to Be Honest!

Pat and George were two lively neighbourhood boys. Pat possessed several beautiful birds, while George had only two or three birds and these were plain and ordinary types. One day a couple of Pat’s doves flew into George’s aviary, and began to build a nest. The poor boy thought: “How happy I would be if they were mine! They are as white as snow and their heads and tails are as black as coal. Of all of Pat’s birds these are certainly the most beautiful.” All of a sudden he thought of keeping the birds and to say nothing. “No,” he reflected, “I won’t do it, because it would be a sin. I want to overcome this temptation.” He closed the aviary, took the birds and went to Pat’s place immediately. The latter was overjoyed to find his birds again, and was especially pleased that George had been so honest. He decided to take the first eggs the birds laid and to place them secretly in George’s aviary in the nest of one of his birds. When the little bird...

As a Rule Man is a Fool!

A housewife would wake her two servants every morning when the cock crew. The girls used to get mad at the bird and they said: “If it weren’t for that dreadful cock, we could sleep a little longer.” So they killed the cock. But the housewife who was getting old and was no longer wide awake, never knew what time it was and so at times she would wake the girls when she fancied that it was time and so sometimes they found themselves being woken earlier than before and even at midnight! As a rule man is a fool; When it’s hot he wants it cool, When it’s cool he wants it hot. Always wanting what is not. ---***---
